As part of the Tritons Flourish Initiative, the RISE Well-being & Community Engagement CCR Opportunity (RISE-CCR) enables all UC San Diego students to earn credit on their Co-Curricular Record for being active participants in programming that aims to promote students’ well-being and build a community of care on our campus.
You can get involved in RISE-CCR activities by attending any of the following:
Through the RISE-CCR programming, students will have the ability to learn about different dimensions of their well-being, practice skills designed to support improving their mental health and overall wellness, engage in identity exploration, and help to build our Triton community.
The Co-Curricular Record (CCR) highlights student achievements in opportunities beyond the classroom, including a brief description and the skills developed, on an official record. These are activities officially validated by the University, meaning that your experience in this opportunity will be displayed alongside your academic achievements and have more credibility than un-validated extracurricular activities!
Through involvement in the Tritons RISE Well-being & Community Engagement CCR Opportunity, students will work on developing these important competencies:
To receive validation for your participation in the RISE-CCR Certificate and have it show on your official CCR transcript, you must complete all 3 of the following steps to earn the required 30 credits needed for your RISE-CCR certificate eligibility:
Step #1: Attend 12 RISE-CCR eligible activities over the course of the academic year AND track your attendance to each using the RISE-CCR Attendance Log linked here for each activity you attend (12 RISE-CCR activities attended counts towards 24 of the total 30 credits needed for CCR eligibility)
Step #2: Complete the quarterly RISE-CCR Reflection Surveys which will be sent via email to all students who have completed their attendance logs (completion of survey counts towards the additional 6 credits needed)
Step #3: Log your enrollment and completion of the RISE-CCR in the CCR portal for your official certificate to be approved, validated, and posted to your CCR transcript.
Important additional notes about each of the steps above:
Once a student’s RISE-CCR completion is approved and validated through the CCR portal linked above, students will receive a certificate of completion documenting:
Tritons RISE Well-Being & Community Engagement Certificate:
Participated in experiential programming, including workshops and community connections, designed to increase well-being and build a community of care. Learned about different dimensions of well-being, practiced skills designed to support improving mental health and overall wellness, engaged in identity exploration, and helped to build our Triton community.
AND the Tritons RISE Well-being & Community Engagement Certificate will appear on a student’s CCR transcript with the following description:
Participated in strength-based experiential programming, including workshops and community connections, designed to build skills for resilience, increase well-being, nurture a community of care and create a flourishing life.
Please select the "RISE-CCR" event type in the CAPS Calendar to find relevant events.
Each student is responsible for keeping track of their RISE involvement over the course of the year by submitting all RISE-CCR eligible participation using the RISE-CCR Attendance Log. It is aso always encouraged to keep your own copy/log of your involvement throughout the year so that you can refer to it.
Once you have completed all RISE-CCR requirements (which totals 30 hours of active engagement in the RISE-CCR programming), you must log your participation in the Tritons RISE Well-being & Community Engagement certificate program through the University’s CCR portal for your official certificate to be approved, validated, and posted to your CCR transcript. From this point your participation will then be sent on for validation by both CAPS and the CCR teams.Yes! Although we recommend you log your attendance promptly after each RISE-CCR activity you attend, you can still log your RISE-CCR participation if it was during the current academic year by adding the activity to your RISE-CCR Attendance Log. Provided your attendance can be confirmed by the activity host, it will count towards the 30-hour RISE-CCR certificate requirement.
